About Jan - The Mothers' Mentor

Jan Haynes (NNEB, DipHE, RM, BSc, MSc).
"The Mothers' Mentor"
Hi I'm Jan a mother of 3 grown children, grandmother of 2 rainbow grandchildren and I've been a professionally registered, holistic midwife in England for over 24 years, working both within private practice and the national health service in England. Before that I was a certified nursery nurse for 10 years and became experienced and knowledgeable in the physical, emotional and psychological aspects of child development in children between the ages of 0 to 7 years and the intrinsic link to they had to their mothers.
I have always been fascinated and in awe of childbirth and mothering since being a young child, knowing I was adopted as a baby, shortly after birth, to the parents who brought me up. It was a natural progression once I was in adult life to find my calling within family life and midwifery. I have had the privilege of helping thousands of families during my career and personally assisted over a 1000 healthy babies into the world.
-
I have personal experience and professional expertise in counselling women through emotional pain, fear, trauma and bereavement and I am particularly passionate about helping and empowering women to restore calmness, balance and well-being within their lives.
-
My passion is to make real connections with women and their families serving them in a way that empowers them and builds positive and meaningful relationships.
-
My firm belief is that childbirth is a normal life event based within family life and that each woman has the power within her to birth her baby fearlessly.
-
My career has been heavily influenced by my own experience of childbirth, being a single mother, a professional midwife and nurturing my own children through to adult life, navigating a whirlwind of emotions, challenges, grief, loss and joy along the way.
-
I absolutely believe that motherhood is the universe's greatest gift, it's greatest challenge, and ultimately give us the greatest reward when we can learn how to effectively nurture ourselves and our children.
